    Someday HBO will let the last seasons be out for the watching and I will get them, for now, no.
    But, the newest Wonder Woman movie is absolutely great and fits the same lines as you talk about.

    Excellent article. I think the worst of the 1970s was The Bionic Woman, which tended to repackage the exact scripts from the Six Million Dollar Man except with Jaime Summers instead of Steve Austin. There was also Angie Dickinson in Police Woman, where she routinely ran up against sexism. The thing that I like about GOT in general and Danarys in particular is that the women use traditional feminine strengths of collaboration, cooperation and thoughtful planning to beat the belligerent men at their own game. Except Brienne. She just kicks ass all the way through.

    Great article! Who is your favourite of these ladies ? My fave is probably Arya but Brienne is pretty high up there. I love Tormund’s hilarious crush on her and his giant babies wish. That so made me laugh out loud when he said that quote. I have the feeling that he may not get his feelings returned though Brienne is more like to smash him to the ground if he even touched her.

      Ha! I’d have to agree with your assessment of the outlook for the Tormund-Brienne romance. For me, Brienne edges out Arya as my favorite, but it’s a tough call. Thanks so much for reading and commenting.

        I don’t know why I didn’t see this until now… Anyway, I kind of like that the thing between Jamie and Brienne has been platonic. She guards her heart pretty closely. Whoever wins it will be a lucky man! I’m off to read your post on the men’s costumes…

        Thank you! I am to be honest not bothered what happens about who will her heart. I do want to see Tormund giving her another look though or flirt with her.

        I would like to see Jaime’s reaction to Tormund’s love for Brienne. I am not suggesting a love triangle by any means. I am not to be honest too keen on them but 2 minutes of screen action would be nice.

    Good points over women in Game of Thrones certainly do not wear heels to fight in. I have been watching the new X Files and as much as I love Scully she still wears these stupid high heels to run and fight in. I bet a real female FBI would certainly not wear heels. Also it is so Unscully like she is rational and sensible and I bet would not wear heels to run in.

      Oh my–I haven’t watched that! It would be hard to fight crime in high heels. I can barely walk across a lawn in them.

        I don’t think Scully is the only one though to fight crime in heels. I cannot think of any off the top of my head though.
